Self-Care: The Gift That Keeps Giving 🎁

Hello there, Beautiful!

First off, a huge shoutout to our veterans. Your service is deeply appreciated, and we’re grateful for all you do!

This past weekend was supposed to be a chill, 3-day holiday break, but I ran myself ragged. Why? I’m in housing search mode trying to prevent me and my baby from being "homeless for the holidays." I found what I thought was the one and was about to input my payment method, but something just didn’t feel right. So I decided to check out another spot I’d seen a few weeks back. Oh, and did I mention I have less than 3 weeks to secure a place? No? Well, yes. "Do you know you have 30 minutes?"

Then on Tuesday, I had a doctor's appointment later in the workday. By the time I got there, I was DONE. Between the stress of house hunting, the traffic, and plain ole life, my blood pressure had risen and my upper body was stiff as a board. Thankfully, my doctor (a phenomenal Black woman) took her time with me, reminding me to make myself a priority. I walked out with two prescriptions, a referral for physical therapy (that incorporates Pilates), and a renewed commitment to actually take care of myself. Although I hate leaving the house, I assured my doctor that I'd commit to the physical therapy and be more mindful of self-care. I can't tell you how grateful I am for a doctor who sees me and not only tells me to slow down, but gives me effective ways of maintaining my overall health. She was nice about the whole thing, but I could tell she meant business. Baby, you ain't gotta tell me twice! 😆

And here’s what I’ve realized: taking care of ourselves is treating ourselves. It doesn’t always mean spending money. It could be as simple as taking a walk, escaping from the noise, or wandering around your favorite store. Ahh… Heaven on Earth.

So here’s my challenge for you this week: treat yourself. Take a little time for whatever brings you joy, good health, and peace. It could be a good book, a stroll, or even splurging just a bit. And if you’re looking for a new card to shop, here’s my referral link. For a limited time, you can get a $300 bonus if approved. Apply at your own discretion, because yep, credit check. I want you to treat yourself, but let's be financially responsible too, babes. 😘

Whatever you choose, just be sure that it makes you smile.

Until next time,

Ingrid

P.S., I did find a place. 🙌🏾
